If my electrical appliances don’t work when I get home, this is why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gKd6pBJnZE

PS. The current is so strong that I can’t put my wrists down on my laptop while it’s plugged in because it shocks me through the small gap between the surface and the edging. Not fun.

Hey girl. After looking at one of the photos of a utility pole in Nepal on your blog the problem is probably not just a bad / strong current – it’s that there is probably no or poor grounding on the electrical systems. There is so much communications wires attached to the pole it leaves virtually no room for proper grounding. I am sure the same is occuring in your unit! Make sure that you don’t end up being the ground rod there! When will you be back in SD?
