A letter from my organization:
A young, 7 year old Nepali girl was just rescued and brought to our transit shelter in Butwal, Nepal. Since Amrita’s mother passed away, she had been staying with relatives… but we came to know that she was being abused. She is now safe and being cared for along with the other girls in the shelter until we arrange long term family care. This story is a strong reminder of the vulnerability of girls in this part of the world as well as the strength of the church and volunteers who are working together to protect them.
We are so excited to be back in Nepal and report that the Daughter Project is growing and making an impact along the border areas. We now have over 100 churches involved in preventing the trafficking of young Nepali girls across the border into India! The strength of this local network is truly the backbone of this project.
We need your support to continue rescuing daughters like Amrita. Your partnership is paramount!
